Think 3000 is spread across Storey Hall and nearby RMIT buildings. To help you move between locations easily, we’ve created visual guides showing the way, including accessible routes. You can scroll down the page to also download the campus mobility map.
RMIT City Campus is well served by public transport. You can plan your journey using PTV’S journey planner or Google Maps.
By Car
No on-campus parking is available for visitors, but there are many paid car parks and metered parking spaces nearby.
By Public Transport
The closest train station is Melbourne Central Station on the City Loop. There are also multiple tram and bus routes which run nearby.
Exit the train station. There are escalators that are opposite from Coles, which will take you up a level.
Take the next set of escalators to your left.
Walk towards Fossil and Koko Black, and then through the walkway to get to Swanston Street.
Outside, go to the intersection. At the lights, cross Swanston Street towards the State Library.
Turn left, and cross LaTrobe Street towards the RMIT Info Corner.
Building 16

You can enter Storey Hall through the Swanston Street entrance
Within Storey Hall you will find the main Auditorium, Lecture Theatre 1. There will be signs and someone to guide you as you walk in.
There is wheelchair access throughout the building. The accessible lift entrance is on Rodda Lane opposite RMIT Building 8.
Level 2, Building 8

Kaleide Theatre is in Building 8. From Swanston Street, go down the stairs or lift.
You can enter Building 10 on either Swanston Street or Bowen Street.
This is the escalator from the Swanston Street entrance – that goes up to level 4 where Connect and the Job Shop are - and where the Bowen Street entrance to Building 10 is.
From Swanston St: Take the escalator to the next level (level 4) where Connect & the Job Shop are. Or take the lift straight up to level 4. From Bowen St: Go straight ahead – go past the first meeting room on the left, it’s the second meeting room on the left.
This is what you see when you get to the top of the escalator. On the left is Connect.
Straight ahead is the room 013.
The Bowen Street entrance is on the left of the 013 room.
The closest disabled toilets are in Building 10 – when you enter building 10 from Bowen Street, turn left and left again – there you see the sign for the disabled toilet.
On the day, there will be staff outside the buildings to show you where to go. Staff will ask if you have a ticket to the event, you will need to show them your ticket which you have purchased online. The staff are friendly and are happy to answer any questions you have. Inside, there will be signage which shows you where to go. You are always welcome to ask a staff member for help.
If you are attending an event in the Kaleide theatre, you will enter through a large foyer area. The foyer has dim lights and may be loud and busy. You will be seated in a large lecture theatre.
The room is somewhat dark with warm dimmable lighting. There is a stage that has a bright screen. The chairs are soft leather and have armrests on either side. There may be loud noises from the sound system, or from the audience.
If you are attending an event in the Storey Hall, you will enter through a large open foyer.
Level 5, with the auditorium’s main doors at left.
You will be seated in a large auditorium with multiple levels. There is some natural light from overhead windows, and bright artificial lights. The chairs are soft fabric, with armrests on either side. There may be loud noises from the sound system, or from the audience.
There are male, female and all-gender bathrooms throughout the venue. All bathrooms have stalls.
All bathrooms have hand dryers, which might create loud noises. The bathrooms are clearly signposted, and staff are also happy to direct you.
There will be a catered lunch at 12PM on the rooftop of the Garden building - Level 6, Building 10 on Bowen Street. You can access the rooftop through the stair entrance on Bowen Street, or the elevators behind the STREAT Cafe.
There will be food and beverages served. You are welcome to ask staff about your specific dietary needs. You may also bring food from home or exit RMIT to purchase food.
